Least helpful to the sisterhood.

I had a rollicking start to the month with news that I received another Ernie Award for sexist behaviour. The Ernies are a ludicrous exercise where 300 feminists partake in an annual dinner where they vote for the comments by prominent people they find most objectionable.

This year I received an individual award for “comments least helpful to the sisterhood” but also the Ernies made a joint award to members of the Council for the Order of Australia, recognising its decision to give me an honour “for services to  the community as a social commentator and to gender equity through advocacy for men”. Wouldn’t have minded being a fly on the wall watching them seething as they voted on that one!
