She talked about her research showing how ordinary couples cope with the tensions of managing their sex supply. She had ninety-eight couples who spent up to a year keeping his-and-hers diaries recording the intimate details of their negotiations over their sexual encounters. The result was a challenging, thought-provoking analysis of desire, showing how men and women cope with their distinctly different libidos and what couples must do to achieve sexual harmony
